Seven Islands Cruise

Explore Seven Islands of the Canary Archipelago on our two week cruise.

Join our exclusive 4 person cruise on a Hallberg-Rassy starting with a shakedown cruise from our base in San Miguel, Tenerife. On the first day you will sail to Santa Cruz, Tenerife; the start of approximately 600NM around the beautiful Canary Islands.

This cruise is intended for people with a sense of adventure ideally with some previous sailing experience. It provides a fantastic opportunity to explore under sail these beautiful islands while extending your sailing knowledge and gaining sea miles. These sailing areas can be challenging and includes night sailing but with the experienced RYA qualified instructors onboard you can be assured you will be in safe hands.

  • Cruise Duration Two weeks (Saturday to Saturday)
    Previous Experience Ideally you will have some coastal passage sailing as crew.
    Assumed Knowledge Some sailing experience but ideally RYA Competent Crew or equivalent is desirable. You will be expected to keep watch and helm during the passages under the guidance of your skipper.
    Cruise Destinations During the cruise from Tenerife there will be overnight stop overs in Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro where you can eat out in local restaurants. There will be night sailing during this cruise leaving more time to explore the islands.
    Experience Gained Experience of sailing in the Atlantic Ocean. Gained approx 600NM in your logbook with the possibility of a 60NM Yachtmaster qualifying passage.
  • NOTE: Sailing passage route is weather permitting and we reserve the right to change the destinations and order for your safety.

    Day 1 - Saturday

    You will be met at the marina by your skipper. There will be welcome drinks onboard to meet your fellow sailing crew and we will advise the best restaurants for you to try.

    Day 2 - Sunday

    Morning starts with a full safety brief on yacht systems. Set sail for Santa Cruz with practice drills in reducing sail and get everyone settled onto 'Merlin'. Relax around the bars and restaurants in historic Santa Cruz offering great food.

    Day 3/4 - Monday/Tuesday

    Prepare 'Merlin' for the first long passage overnight passage to Lanzarote. Landfall should be around 07:00 arriving into Marina Rubicon around 08:00.

    You will have a full day to explore Lanzarote or to get some down time on a beach.

    Day 5 - Wednesday

    Set sail for Fuerteventura in the morning with the aim to be in Gran Tarajal mid-afternoon.

    Day 5 - Thursday/Friday

    Pasito Blanco on Gran Canaria is the next stop after an overnight sail from Gran Tarajal.

    Day 8 - Saturday

    After a long day sail to San Sabastian on La Gomera you will be able to relax around the bars and restaurants in historic San Sabastian offering great food.

    Day 9 - Sunday

    You have the day to explore La Gomera. There are many car rentals by the marina at very reasonable rates.

    Day 10/11 - Monday/Tuesday

    After preparing 'Merlin', depart for Santa Cruz, La Palma. This will be the first full day of sailing but typically we will be in with plenty of time for dinner. The marina offers great facilities with WiFi etc. There are plenty of fine local restaurants for you to explore.

    You have a day to explore this fascinating island from it's ancient geology and fauna to the historical capital Santa Cruz.

    Day 12 - Wednesday

    The west coast of La Gomera is our next destination where we will stop for the night at Valle Gran Rey (Vueltas). This is a small fishing village offering an amazing selection of restaurants and cocktail bars.

    Day 13 - Thursday

    Providing you have survived the night before, we set sail for El Hierro and Puerto La Restinga. This is the smallest and most westerly island in the Canaries.

    Day 14 - Friday

    The sail back to Las Galletas is the longest passage of the trip, but by now you will be well equipped to undertake it.

    We will visit one of our favourite restaurants for drinks and dinner before retiring for a well earned sleep on 'Merlin'.

    Day 15 - Saturday

    Depart 'Merlin' at 10:00 by the latest for your return trip home or perhaps to continue your holiday in Tenerife.
